My name is Phil Riehl and I live in Forest Grove, Oregon. After being the lead singer in a band, a live radio host, and playing music for multiple events including weddings, youth events and house parties, I decided turn my passion for music into a full time profession. "Vibes" is a term many people talk about these days. I define them as the feelings and energy being transferred between people. We never want bad vibes, only good vibes, so how do we ensure they're good? We act and speak with compassion and empathy, always seeking first to understand the other person. No commands, contempt or condescension, but courtesy, cooperation and consideration. Especially when drinking at a wedding. When I DJ events, I am required to provide these good vibes when I arrive, set up gear and spin tunes. Special events can be times of joy and happiness but un-communicated high expectations can also cause turbulent emotions (especially wedding days when alcohol is involved), but it's my responsibility to read the room, set the tone and perform with precision. Since I am constantly focused on providing the best service possible, I'm always aware of what's going on, I go with the flow and make adjustments as needed.

Rockville Motionstrip
The MotionStrip by Rockville is an amazing light because it can be used as a wash light, a multi beam moving head light, a stage light, or even a dance floor light! What makes this item unique is that it rotates 270 degrees like a moving head and has 8 LED’s that are each powered by 10 watts making them very bright. You can combine multiple MotionStrip Lights to create a cool light show. Some other great ideas on how to use these lights are as follows: Hang two of them on a truss, and have the beams rotating onto the dance floor with color changing and strobe effects. Another application would be to use the MotionStrip as a wash light to wash a wall for example.

POWER
The equipment I have requires a couple of wall outlets. I can’t plug everything into one power strip. Electricity fluctuates and it could ruin my main speakers and subwoofer if not connected properly. Before booking, please be sure the area am I to set up has the appropriate power requirements. I can’t sign an agreement without it.
INDOOR VS OUTDOOR
I live in Oregon and will happily travel a few hours from the Portland, OR area. Most people in this state know that it rains 9 months out of the year.
Water + electrical sound equipment = bad.
Additionally, barns, warehouses, sheds, and tents don’t provide much protection from the elements and the dust and dirt could damage my gear. For this reason, I would prefer to DJ indoor events, but if the weather is sunny with little chance of rain, I may consider outdoor events.
